"The difference between the unattainable and the attainable lies in a person's determination."

Julie Heinzl lives and breathes nutrition and fitness and has been competing in endurance events for over ten years. She began her athletic career swimming competitively in high school and college. After completing her undergraduate degree in Clinical Nutrition from the University of Pittsburgh, she developed her love of running and never looked back. She has completed five marathons and many half-marathons including: Pittsburgh, Columbus, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Steamtown (Scranton, PA) and Chicago; and it only seemed obvious that triathlon was the next step. Julie is a now a triathlete who has completed several sprint and olympic distance triathlons. Most recent age-group finishes include: 07 Mountain Man 3rd (30-34 age group) and 07 Pittsburgh Triathlon 1st (30-34 age group). Since finishing her Masters degree in Nutrition, she has moved herself across the country and is training for her first Half Ironman competition to take place in October 2007 here in Tempe; ultimately her goal is to finish the full Ironman. Currently, she works at the VA as a clinical nutritionist and a diabetes educator. Other personal interests for Julie include vinyasa yoga and photography. She truly has a passion for nutrition and fitness and is committed and determined to assisting others to become their very best.
